7-5 homestand: Not too shabby

Like I said, it's not 7-5 per se.....it's the MANNER in which it was achieved.

Sure we haven't won games in great fashion but at least we are recording victories when some of our stud hitters aren't exactly on fire.

I agree that almost getting swept by Cleveland, only winning by 1 each game against Toronto, isn't exactly fantastic, just look forward to when Crede, Carlos, Rowand, and Mags get hot, and Jose gets back. /runon sentence

We're a large market team trying to win the Central with a small market budget.

Good line Donkey. I was thinking people would rip my comment about us being

a small market team.

Brando you are one tough cookie.

You want to win pretty? Me thinks you are nuts or like that Cleveland Indians

fan in "Major League." You want it all.

I don't know about it "all".....but after 3 years of mind-boggling bad luck, corpseball underachivement and general organizational stupidity....I reckon both I and this franchise could use a little, um, "winning".....And just barely being able to handle TB and Cle AT HOME is not my idea of winning.

Give me a 92-70 record. And an ALCS apperance. And a 75 Mill payroll in 2005 and I'll be content. It's about f***ing TIME Sox became the Indians of the 2000's.

YMMV.

We're 10-5 at home, only SD has more home wins -- we have 6 last AB victories -- 9-1 in 1-run games -- All of those are marks of teams that make the payoff's.

Read the thread title. We were talking about this home stand.

Hey guys, I'm very happy that the Sox are sitting atop the standings. But, I don't see it as all peaches and cream right now. Before the homestand I would labeled anything less that 8-4 a dissapointment. Hell, we were one swing away from being 6-6 if Koch had given up a long one in the 9th. I feel like we are not playing up to our potential, or even close, yet. Because of Ozzie and his aggresiveness, we aren't in corpseball mode. Getting these wins while we aren't playing all that great is huge, but I don't want the team to be happy with this scuffling way of winning games.

I can see both sides here, but I'm wondering what effect the garbage weather had. Buehrle's Yankee rain delayed bizarro first inning, cold/rainy almost every night throughout the homestand, etc.

It's not an excuse, but I think it can make for some weird games, and we saw plenty of those.
