We should trade him for whatever we can get for him, because he sucks and he just sucks and, did I say he sucks? I don't think my Jeckle impression is as good as santo's, but I tried.

This is the post that you are referring too.... I say if we can get a really quality pitcher for him do it in a heartbeat. The fact is even if he is considered a "can't miss prospect" it's still about a 50/50 chance he'll ever do anything worth noting in baseball. From what i've read about him I think that he's overrated in everyway and his defense doesn't sound that great... All I know it what I heard about on sox talk and what I saw in spring training. I will gladly eat crow but so far I haven't been impressed. Read my posts from tonight and try to tell me again that I haven't calmed down tremendously.

You've never even seen him play, and if you are reading SOXTALK, Jeremy Reed is talked about a ton and he is just plain considered awesome. He's hitting 280 with like a 375 OBP and that is considered a slump for him. So what's it like when he's consistent, 300Avg/400 OBP? That's simply amazing, IMO...

I seem to remember another consistant .300 hitter in the minor leagues. A kid by the name of Willie Harris. Now I have been a Harris fan for well on 2 years now, and in the offseason I heard nothing but people talking about how he sucked and he would never be any more then a .200 hitter. I will not apoligize for my opinion just like I don't expect them to apoligize for theirs. Willie is doing good and it feels good to have have someone I rooted for two years now finally having success. Hopefully i'm wrong and you can have those same feelings about Reed.

Put things in perspective folks. He's doing very well in the minors. But there is no way to assume that he's going to do that well in majors. Willie Harris has now proven he is capable of being a productive big league player. Reed has proved that, yet. The point is, he may never be able to do so. We just don't know if he can or not.
