July 1, 200421 yr from ESPN.com Seattle Mariners: Catcher Miguel Olivo, just acquired in a weekend trade, wasn't at Safeco Field against Texas because he was being treated for kidney stones. Manager Bob Melvin said Olivo could miss two or three days, though he said there also was a slim possibility he could show up in time for Wednesday's game.
July 1, 200421 yr Olivo suffered from kidney stones during spring training. I remember he was supposed to start one of the games I was at and Guillen in the press room mentioned Olivo was scratched due to the stones.
July 1, 200421 yr Maybe KW knew about this????? This isn't a serious issue, painful as hell, but he'll probaby miss a day or two and be back. He's just gotta piss them out.

July 1, 200421 yr I just hope I never have to experience that :banghead Nope, you don't. My mom had them when I was about 6. She was in the hospital with them and ended up losing 3/4 of one of her kidneys (it tore up the inside of the kidney).
July 1, 200421 yr He had this before too I believe. Maybe during ST? I'm pretty sure he had them. Not serious, just painful, as was stated.

July 1, 200421 yr Since it was a pre-existing condition.. did KW tell Seattle? It's not as bad as Sirotka's pre-existing condition, but it is a similar smokescreen tactic by KW if he didn't tell them.
July 1, 200421 yr I use to supplement with tums for some extra calcium until my freinds dad told me that he did the same thing and said that all the calcium he was taking in grew another piece of bone ala the stone.. from that day forward i've been hesitant to take tums.. even though i drink about a gallon a milk a day ;o

Its just something that ocassionally comes up. Looking at Miguel, he's a pretty big and strong guy and probably drinks a lot of milk and what not.
