Brian Anderson Named Hitter of the Week

Posted on Jul 9, 2004

BIRMINGHAM, AL - In his first week in Double-A, Barons centerfielder Brian Anderson has been named the Southern League's BC Powder Hitter at the Week for July 2nd - 8th. The White Sox #7 overall prospect and #1 pick in 2003 hit .414 with two homers and seven RBI for the week. He also added two doubles, a triple, two stolen bases and five runs scored to help the Barons to 9-6 record to start the second half.

Anderson, a native of Tucson, AZ, is the third Baron to win a weekly award as Dennis Ulacia won Pitcher of the Week for April 30th - May 6th and Arnie Munoz picked up Pitcher honors for May 7th - 13th.

atta boy Brian! I hope he breezes through double-A and has an easy triple-A experience, i think he may be a white sox by late may of next year...

I've been very impressed with Mr. Anderson. I thought he would struggle at first. I'm glad I was wrong.
