Shingo's Entry

Featured Replies

I went to yesterday’s game and when Takatsu came out, the whole crowd knew who was coming because it was obviously the 9th inning, it was a close game, and that one drum noise was all over the place. It’s not the first time I see Shingo at the Cell, but I just love his entrance. It is cool and pretty scary (I don’t know why, must be that drum noise) because the opposite team knows what they are getting. Anyone else notice Godzilla was on the big screen TV when Shingo closed the game? Now that was bad ass!

Long live Shingo :headbang

I was there today. I didn't notice Godzilla, but I was groovin' to that song!

The entry is great and what's his face is doing a fine job with acquainting fans with the players.

It's a gong. Sort of a Japanese thing, you see. But it's cool, no doubt about it.

On the subject of cool scoreboard stuff, the opening every night gets me going too. They use the Dave Wills' intro, then they have a great video, Gene Honda says on your feet, they use the board to show the starters in groups (outfielders, infielders), the whole thing works for me. Way to go Brooksie!

i get the goosebumps :headbang

I was at the game today. The Shingo entry is definately awsome.

It really is an awesome entrance. Ironically, Koch had asked for something similar, with Metalicca music, I believe. He was told they could, because of a commercial obligation. Remember the used to do those, oil or Jiffy Lube things when pitchers were changed?

gong, gong, gong, gong (techno in the background) It's cool what's funny is is shingo throws so slowly yet is intimidating.

I absolutely LOVE shingo's entrance, I was at the game yesterday and it honestly was one of the cooler things I've ever seen. The whole gong thing w/ the crazy japanese techno videogame music in the background. It almost gives you chills, reminded me alot of hells bells for hoffman. Then playing the gong after every out, so awesome. And yeah, i saw godzilla on the video board, HILARIOUS.

Props to the sox for marketing shingo the right way :headbang

I thought gongs were more of a Chinese thing. :huh

I have an Idea every time shingo gets an out they should play the gong and have dancing sushi on the scoreboard.

Isn't a gong kind of steriotypical. lol
