July 17, 200421 yr Does anyone remember in the movie Little Big League, when the old veteran gets a dribbler for a hit and everyone goes crazy? That's how I felt seeing Burke get that flair down the right field line before. Just watched that movie last night....
July 17, 200421 yr These are the things that have always killed the Sox in the past - another team opens the door W-I-D-E for them, and they promptly slam it shut in their own faces. Who would have thought that of Valentin, Burke, Uribe, and Rowand, that the only one to get a hit would be Burke? Next inning - Mags, Lee, and Konerko. Hopefully we brought some South Side fireworks with us tonight!
July 17, 200421 yr I'll say it right now. Looks like we're not gonna score more than a run tonite, and if we do, we won't win. It's the tale of the AL West Road trip. Anyone remember 19-0?
July 17, 200421 yr Crede: 2 pitches, 2 weak grounders. This team just can't hit for s*** right now. Way too many easy outs in the line-up.
July 17, 200421 yr Anyone notice this is the same ump that screwed the Sox lastnight with that bad DP call is now calling balls and strikes. It looks to me like he's up to it with his strikezone tonight. Zito gets 3 inches to each side and Buerhle has to throw over the heart to get a f***ing strike. Same s*** as last night with JG.
July 17, 200421 yr Remember when we won that one game in Oakland last year and we all thought the curse was over?? Neither do I.
July 17, 200421 yr KW has got to upgrade the offense soon. The last 10 games or so, the offense has been miserable.
