July 17, 200421 yr Tigers and Injuns are only 4.5 games out of first right now. Right now, their fans have to be saying the same thing that Sox and Twins fans are saying: "Lots of games coming up with divisional rivals" "Take care of our own business and we're right in it" "Maybe ownership will get that missing part at the deadline" This could end up being MUCH tighter than anyone expected. Four team race, anyone?
July 17, 200421 yr I'd be more concerned with Cleveland, they've got good young hitters and good pitchers. Then again, we haven't played well against Detroit in the past either.
July 17, 200421 yr Three words. No pitching depth. It will be us or the Twins in the playoffs. Period.
July 17, 200421 yr Three words. No pitching depth. It will be us or the Twins in the playoffs. Period. I think Cleveland has better pitching than Minnesota. If Cleveland had a reliable closer and a decent middle reliever or two, I'd be more concerned with them.
July 17, 200421 yr Once they get above .500 then we should be concerned. But since they haven't yet, don't worry.
July 17, 200421 yr 4 words that sound kinda scary. Eddie Guardado to Cleveland Why not to Chicago, the south side that is? A lefty reliever would be great. As for the Tigers and Indians, I hope they are like last years Royals, but you never know...
July 17, 200421 yr If Cleveland had a reliable closer and a decent middle reliever or two, I'd be more concerned with them. I think everyone would. Afterall, they'd only be in first place by about 5 games.

Detroit will fizzle a little, they're a lot like last years royals. The indians might stay around a little longer because they do have 3 solid starting pitchers. But as many people have mentioned their bullpen is awful so I don't think they can win this division but they'll probably hang around for a while.
July 18, 200421 yr I perfer the if you don't see it then it isn't there method. Oh well back to my corner for me.

Cleveland is supposed to be the up and coming team in the division and lots of folks see them making a strong bid next season. Doesn't surprise me they are trying to do something this year too. Detroit blows ass though forget about them.
