July 24, 200421 yr I know we have willie and Uribe playing 2nd right now but with mags and thomas seeming to be gone for the season Why not Grab Boone for next to nothing. We could lock him in at second move willie over to CF and Rowand over to RF. Boone has hit 330 5hr 19 rbi's since june 17. He would provide power and great D at 2nd base to make up for the loss of power from Maggs going down. Just a thought, I know he had a bad 1st half and all but he was playing through injuries and family problems during that time. I think he would be a great pick up and would cost us nothing in return maybe a second tier minor leaguer thats it.
July 24, 200421 yr If a good portion of Boone's salary was taken by Seattle, I wouldn't mind him. Agreed. He is making 8 million this year, and with that kind of money for a rent a player just won't cut it. They should look into Raul Ibanez. He has decent contact, and decent power and can play LF while Carlos DH's. He is half the salary Boone is and has been having a way better year.

July 24, 200421 yr Puhleeze Jeckle.. Harris is a bench player compared to Boone. Maybe in the last three years or so but not this year.
July 24, 200421 yr This isn't a bad idea. Harris can move to CF with Rowand moving to right field. Boone is a FA at the end of the year and if the Sox get healthy you can decide which of Boone/Harris to play everyday. If the Mariners would do it for a mid level type prospect, assuming the Sox are willing to pay maybe 2 mill of the remaining portion of the contract.
