maggsmaggs
The Twins next 11 series is as follows: -White Sox -Boston -Anaheim -Oakland -Seattle -Cleveland -New York -Cleveland -Texas -Anaheim -Oakland On the other hand we play: -Twins -Detroit -Kansas City -Cleveland -Kansas City -Boston -Detroit -Boston -Detroit -Cleveland -Philly (1 game) --If we take 2 of 3 from the Twins, we will be in first and then with the much easier schedule we can be in first hopefully by 5 games come September. chisoxfan79
Unless the Sox can get on a 10 or 11 game win streak they are not gonna break away from the Twins.
Ballpark Frank - Big Hurt
Most importantly, is the stretch of games we are currently in playing our division. If we continue to do well within, we are playoff bound, simple as that.

SoxAce
We need to send another meesage to these f***ers for good. We already swept this team not too long ago, but they keep going. When we take at least 2/3 or a sweep, I think their confedence against us will be shot down and they will not pay as good as they are now against those good teams. HUGE series here. Probably the biggest one of the year
greg775
I don't think we'll be sending the Twinks any messages w/out Maggs and Frank. Maybe though. Baseball is a funny game.

Yea, when we swept them the first time, we didnt have maggs in the lineup. Now we dont have both frank and maggs and just took 2/3 from a good hitting Detroit lineup. I'd say I'll be a statement by beating them without our top hitters.

BridgeportHeather
I hope everyone's been praying to the Baseball Gods. Just tell the baseball gods to :begood ! Huge series indeed...2 of 3 will be accomplished AT LEAST! We're 7-3 already against these guys. And, if we're tied with the Twins for first in the division, remember that head-to-head is the first tiebreaker. So, in order to assure ourselves of the tiebreaker, all we gotta do is get 3 more wins against them. Of course, we should go for their head asap! YASNY
Excuse me Heather, but I believe we'd have a one game playoff if we finished tied with them.
3E8
I don't think we'll be sending the Twinks any messages w/out Maggs and Frank. Maybe though. Baseball is a funny game. Although Frank played each day when we swept Minnesota at their place, he may as well have not been in the lineup. He went 2-11 in that series. We didn't have Everett at that time either. We can win without Frank and Maggs. Timo went 6-12 in that series, I hope he's starting every day.
witesoxfan
Excuse me Heather, but I believe we'd have a one game playoff if we finished tied with them. IIRC, Heather is right, to an extent, but in this case, she, in all likelyhood, will be wrong. I may be wrong in saying this, but if two teams tie for first place in their division, but 1 does clinch a Wild Card birth, then you go to either heads-up play or divisional play. However, I highly doubt the Wild Card comes from the AL Central...so if we tied, and there was not a wild card birth among the two, there would be a 1-game playoff. I say we just go out and win the division by 10 games.
Yoda
We have our 3 Aces pitching in this series. MB will go for his 11th, FG for his 9th, Esteban for his 10th
Wong & Owens
We have our 3 Aces pitching in this series. MB will go for his 11th, FG for his 9th, Esteban for his 10th Loaiza is to "Ace" what Carl Lewis is to "Classic Rendition of the Star Spangled Banner." Minnesota also has Radke and Santana going, and I believe Silva. This is going to be a tough series.
hi8is
From todays Sun-Times "In fact, the Sox are hitting .301 or better against each of the three starters the Twins are rolling out for this series: Radke (.301), Johan Santana (.304) and Carlos Silva (.389). So even without Ordonez and Thomas, the Sox have the firepower to knock off the Twins."
IlliniKrush
These schedule comparisons have been brought up time and time again - but we can't control what Minnesota does (unless we are playing them). Just take care of your own business, and let everything else take care of itself.

Somehow the Twins always find a way to win just enough games to win the division and the Sox find a way to win just enough games to come in second.
