I've noticed that too. In the Midwest, we usually call it "pop." On the east coast, I've heard a lot of people call it "soda." On the west coast, I've heard them refer to it as "soft drink." I don't care for the orange Mountain Dew - it tastes too much like the now extinct (thank goodness) orange Slice.

Actually, you're wrong. Orange Slice is still alive and kicking. My friend had a few cases of it at his house.
