Gene Honda Civic
It's been a pleasure to watch that guy hit for the past two nights. Friday was one of the best 1-4 nights I have ever seen. Then he followed it up with a 5-5 performance. Here's a little something I found over at USSmariner.com Ichiro! could go hitless for the rest of the season and end up hitting ove .310. Estimating out the number of at-bats he could get the rest of the season (which is not helped by this offensively bad offense) he’s only going to have to hit about .275 to tie George Sisler’s hits record (of 257). To break .400, he needs to hit over .500 the rest of the season. While I’m all about regressing to the mean and all, he hit .432 in July and .463 in August, and anything can happen in a hundred or so at-bats. Heck, Willie F. Bloomquist hit .455 in 33 at-bats one September. Also I'd like everyone to join in a little campaign that they started at USS, that is you always have to attach an exclamation point to the end of Ichiro! It doesn't matter if it starts a sentence, it's just like an extra letter on there 'cuz he's so damned good. qwerty
Not a better pure hitter in the game imo.
SoxAce
He's my favorite non sox player besides Roco. I love to watch him hit. What a f***in beast.. He's gonna break that record and has a chance to break the all time record for singles in a season as well.. Maybe even .400.. but thats a hellofa reach

qwerty
Ichiro! has a good name. I really hate how his first name is on the back of his jersey though.
The Critic
I really hate how his first name is on the back of his jersey though. I'd love to see a guy with "Glen" or "Chuck" on his jersey! That would be funny! Ichiro is a lot of fun to watch - have you noticed the size of his glove?? I had right-field seats and I was like DAMN, WHAT A BUSHEL BASKET!! Yoda
Ichiro! is such a good lead off hitter and I can see him breaking the hits record and just probably ending up with a .400 BA. We are seeing history in the making.
The Critic
I dont know if its BS or what, but they say Ichiro! see's the ball slower than anyone. Its amazing how he basically picks his spot on where to hit the ball, and just puts it in hole in the IF. They used to say similar things about Wayne Gretzky. He supposedly could see a play developing faster or more easily than other players, so he would go to where the play was going to be rather than where the play was at the time. That could be called "anticipation skills", I guess, but it's neither here nor there... "They" weren't saying these things about ICHIRO! when he was hitting .270 in May, though, were "they"? 50 hits per month for 3 months can change an "expert"s opinion of a guy, can't they? Experts....HA....
Chisoxfn
Plus the defensive plays he made yesterday.
hammerhead johnson
The guy didn't get here until his late twenties, but he has to be a first ballot hall of famer, no? If he keeps this up for three more years, he's gotta be.....
