September 6, 200421 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=7099 I know Jason and I were almost positive that Majewski would be in the bigs for September, but not in Montreal. Congrats, Gary!
September 6, 200421 yr Nick "Moneyball" Swisher also got the call-up this weekend. Hit his 1st homer yesterday too. Nothing would please Billy Beane more than for Swisher to be their opening day starter next season in one of the outfield spots.
September 7, 200421 yr Nick "Moneyball" Swisher also got the call-up this weekend. My sis went to school with him, so I hope he does well. I also hope he kicks ass to prove to all who said he wasn't a top prospect (like I said he was) that they're wrong.

September 7, 200421 yr Wasn't swisher the lone prospect from that draft who both scouts and bookworms agreed upon? Maybe. Truthfully, I have no idea, but I do know that I've heard/read more than one person say that Swisher shouldn't be considered a top prospect. Ask Cerb, he doesn't think Swisher is.
September 7, 200421 yr whatevr happened to that fat catcher they drafted that was apposed to be some kind of amazing super talent....
September 7, 200421 yr I believe Majewski was posted about in the Pale Hose forum, whatever. Swisher's numbers this year are nice. No wonder he is a Beane favorite. .406 on base, .537 slugging, 103 walks. Over 100 walks with over 100 strikeouts. That's something else!
September 7, 200421 yr Jeremy Brown was tearing up the minors at one point. I haven't kept up since then but no one thought he was an amazing talent except Beane and Depodesta. That's why he s*** himself when he got drafted that early.

That's why he s*** himself when he got drafted that early. He's regressed a little bit this year... Oakland also drafted two catchers very high this season, which may tell a little bit about how they feel about Brown. He missed the second half last season with a thumb injury, and wasn't the same early this season... He repeated AA, and has picked it up since the middle of the season, but that doesn't appear, to me at least, to be in Oakland's immediate future plans.
September 7, 200421 yr back to majewski for minute... In all of mlb history no player ever appeared in a game with the last name majewski. This season two majewski's appeared in the big leagues, and they were both called up on the same week. 110+ years of no majewski 1 week features two majewski's
September 7, 200421 yr Val is the other one correct? As far as Gary goes, I don't know where Cerb stands, but I think he's got a shot to be pretty good. He's really got a great attitude and good stuff to boot. He's still got to work a bit on his control and what not, but he's definately got the frame of mind to suceed and to me, he's got the arm as well. I've long been a fan of Majewski's and I wish him all the best in Montreal.
