He dominated the Cubs this afternoon and got his 17th win of the year. What are the chances of the Sox getting Pavano to the south side of Chicago or at least getting a Pedro Martinez?

Probably not all that good, it seems Florida is going to make a run at keeping him. I'm starting to jump on the Pavano bandwagon. I'm leary soley because he has an injury riddled history, but he's definately a good pitcher and would look great in a White Sox uni.

Getting Pavono would be awesome and I could see this "Soriano for Garland" trade more of a possibility, even though I don't know a whole lot about that.

I don’t really care if we get Pedro. Many around here have said he is nothing but a pain in the ass. Why? I don’t know. As long as we get a pitcher that can move Garland into that #5 spot than the Sox have a very good shot at getting into the playoffs for 05.

I'd rather have Perez than Pavano. Pedro is a pipe dream and is probably the best pitcher out there healthy or not.

I really get the feeling that someone is going to overpay for Pavano and end up with Chan Ho Park. I have nothing to base it on, just a hunch.

Many could have said he is nothing but a pain in the ass, but does it look like the Red Sox care? Rickey Henderson was an egotistical asshole that only referred to himself in the third person, but you would take him on your team any day of the week because he was a damn good ballplayer.

 

He could have issues...most people do. No big deal. With many Latinos in the lockerroom, he would feel right at home, and Ozzie would make him feel at home too. The lockerroom/bad chemistry thing seemed to be a problem when Jimenez was on the team and Manuel was managing and not giving a s***...we are no longer in the Jerry Manuel era.

 

I would love to get Pedro. He is probably the biggest gamer available in FA, hell, he may be the biggest gamer in the MLB...if we got him, we would win.
