September 12, 200421 yr Felix Diaz (last 12.1 Innings) - 7H 1ER 0BB Jose Contreras (last 10 innings) - 19H 19ER 10BB /updated The worst stretch I can find from Diaz -- 18IP 27H 20ER 6BB
September 12, 200421 yr The worst stretch I can find from Diaz -- 18IP 27H 20ER 6BB And he did that for alot less money.
September 12, 200421 yr The sound quality this afternoon on FSN is terrible. The PA announcers in Anaheim and fans are droning out Hawk/DJ attempting to ignore our ass-whooping . Maybe it's better that way. I couldn't stomach another inning of those two harping about the implications of Questech.
September 12, 200421 yr Good to see Jeff battle back after giving up those 4 runs with no outs. Hopefully Ozzie gives him another inning out there to try to relax and go after them.
September 12, 200421 yr Figgins is awesome. 10-0 angels. The kid sure looks good out there doesn't he?
September 12, 200421 yr Good to see Jeff battle back after giving up those 4 runs with no outs. Hopefully Ozzie gives him another inning out there to try to relax and go after them. I hope Jeff puts in together for the Sox, but this is his 3rd game that I know of and he has yet to pitch a scoreless inning. Am I wrong?
September 12, 200421 yr Were they all earned? I was watching Shawshank. :banghead Yeah, all hits. Nothing hit superhard. To me it looked like Jeff was almost throwing too many strikes and they were just sitting on him.
September 12, 200421 yr I hope Jeff puts in together for the Sox, but this is his 3rd game that I know of and he has yet to pitch a scoreless inning. Am I wrong? No he hasn't been scoreless yet, but he has had some bad luck in some of his outings as well. But I am sure that he would be the first to tell you he should have pitched over some of that stuff.
September 12, 200421 yr Control issues(more body control than pitch location) early in the inning, he was falling off hard to the 1st base bag... he looked out of control, like he struggled with his release point for a few pitches, then his mechanics looked out of whack.
September 12, 200421 yr I saw the triple by Figgins, but didnt know if they were all his base runners. He really hung that ball the Figgins however. :headshake Yeah like I said, he needs to move the ball around a little bit more. Change the plane of the hitters eyes.
September 12, 200421 yr No he hasn't been scoreless yet, but he has had some bad luck in some of his outings as well. But I am sure that he would be the first to tell you he should have pitched over some of that stuff. He had a scoreless outing against texas on the 7th. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?statsId=7444

September 12, 200421 yr Felix Diaz (last 14.1 Innings) - 8H 1ER 1BB Jose Contreras (last 9 innings) - 17H 18ER 10BB /updated Rooney seemed to think that Contreras is hurt. I hate to say it, but I hope so after the way he has pitched the last two outings.
September 12, 200421 yr If being a mental midget is considered an injury, then yes, he should go on DL. I dont buy that he is hurt. He did this EXACT same thing in NY, and the same is happening here. I hate to say it, but I think I agree with Tony -- I didn't actually see Contreras pitch today, so I have no idea what his pitch selection/location and speeds were like. but given his past history I tend to think that it's just him being stubborn.
