thats exactly what happened to me, but i finally found out after a while and ordered some myself..hey its for a good cause

They're for a good cause, but I can't stand them. 90% of the people I know wear them, come on folks, be original.

Everyone is wearing them. When did this become such a trend? Anyways, a bike store by my house is selling them so I guess I'll go pick one up. They are only $1 so why not.

As an cancer survivor thank you WsoxShuf and all the othrs who have bought thses bands. Thank you it really makes me and others who survived very happy to see people become more concerned on finding a cure. :)

My dad had colon cancer last year and is a survivor, I really want to wear one.

If anyone has an extra one I would love to have one sent to my apartment.

It bugs me about how many people wear them, but my mom went threw breast cancer when I was 7, so it kinda means something to me.

People can help a good cause; so maybe it's a good thing that it became "trendy"......

I bought one back in july before I knew how impossible it was going to be to find one.

A women approached me at the doctors office and said she would pay anything for it. However, having lost an immediate family member to cancer gives the bracelet a certain amount of sentimental value to me...so I don't plan on selling it.

I think its a great thing, first off it is making money for a wonderful cause.

Secondly, it brings attention to cancer.

I've had mine on since like late June, before it became real trendy.

I bought three because like Tony, my mom is also a breast cancer survivor, but I don't exactly wear them, as I have an extreme dislike for Lance Armstrong.

Instead, I wear my green "baller" band.

What is this cancer you speak of?

I can't remember if it is Cancer or Capricorn or maybe even LEO

WTF are you guys talking about. I've seen some yellow ribbon stickers or magnets on the back of a few cars but I think they say support our troops.

Our society is still ahead of the one in Kansas....:P

But seriously, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I live in a city of 6700. I would guess people would know about in like CR and DM.

Actualy you are wrong about Kansas, they sell those wristbands there.

I am no longer in Kansas, I am living in the wonderful area of Lincoln Park.

Not to rain on the good samaritan parade, but does anybody know how much of the revenues from these bracelets actually goes to cancer research? As opposed to "administrative costs," etc.?

Nike is paying for them to be made, then the rest of the money goes to the foundation, no one can really know how much goes to the actual research.

virginia tech has this cool thing going with the united way foundation, sort of like the livestrong bracelets. vt is doing this whole "Team United" campaign for this years football season and are selling the same type of bracelets.......

They mentioned the VT rubber bands in the "Sports Illustrated: On Campus"....

"Live Strong bracelets catch on at campuses Seen 'em?  (Course you have.)  Now the football teams at Miami (Ohio),  Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech have their own versions.  Careful:  Tech's version snaps under the slightest pressure."

Mine busted so I need to get another one but I'm also having a hard time finding one.

Heads, would CR and DM be Cedar Rapids and Des Moines?
