Ross Gload with a solo shot to give the Sox a one nothing lead after 2 innings of play.

Two out single by Aaron is followed by a gapper by Uribe to give the Sox a 2-0 lead.

Uribe with a 2 bagger. 20 homers and 31 doubles ain't bad at all from Uribe

He has 21 homeruns but i agree he has been good for us. Only thing he needs to improve on is obp.

A very nice 3-6 DP turned by Gload to end the top of the 4th. 3 DPs turned so far behind Garland today.

Pickering with a solo shot to bring the Royals within 2-1.

Logging in just in time to see the Sox ahead 2-0 but then Garland gives up the long ball. I hope this is the extent of his usual meltdown every game.

*patience wears thin with garland this year*

3-1 on valdez's first career home run.

Wilson Valdez with his first ML HR

3-1 Sox :headbang

Valdez hits a homer to left and Sx lead 3-1. I didn't know this guy had power! I must admit I am a little amazed but happy as pig in slop.

Yes, it does. After all the hype and seeing his great potential surface from time to time, it is very disappointing to see him as a .500 pitcher.

Garland is looking really good today

6IP 1 ER 4 hits and only 57 pitches

I am impressed with Jon's effort so far. After 6 innings he has thrown less than 60 pitches with about a 2.2 ratio of strikes to balls and given up only the solo homer. I am thinking inspired baseball here. Way to go Jon.

I rarely see Garland go deep into games

I rarely see Garland go deep into games

The guy is almost at 210 IP and has made every turn this year. He is averaging almost 7 IP per start.

I agree that Garland is a workhorse and has tons of talent. He needs to put it all together and stay away from basically that one horrendous inning where he gives up a ton of runs. How do they get through to Jon? But, there are enough games he has pitched where he has been just super.

Roughly 6.5 this year.
