October 5, 200421 yr Rolen for Lee I think it's fair and St. Louis needs in OF. Rolen is not putting up mvp type numbers or anything. Also third base is a much harder position to fill then left field.
October 5, 200421 yr Not a chance in hell that is happening. Rolen is as entrenched in St. Louis as any player is anywhere. He is a perfect fit for that club and loves it there. Rolen is likely a future Hall of Famer and a current multiple time Gold Glover.
October 5, 200421 yr Rolen - $74.3MIL over the next 6 seasons including $9.75 next year. Lee - $8.MIL next year, renewable for 8.75 in 06.

October 5, 200421 yr At under $10M for next year, Rolen's a relative bargain. Is he a bargain for a team like the Sox for the five years after that? lol
October 5, 200421 yr Rolen for Lee I think it's fair and St. Louis needs in OF. Holy s***. Not even a Cubs fan would say something like this.
October 5, 200421 yr Is he a bargain for a team like the Sox for the five years after that? lol I wasn't talking about the Sox. In fact, I wasn't advocating trying to acquire him. I just stated a simple fact.
October 5, 200421 yr I wasn't talking about the Sox. In fact, I wasn't advocating trying to acquire him. I just stated a simple fact. I know, Yas..... in fact he just may be a bargain for that long.
October 5, 200421 yr I know, Yas..... in fact he just may be a bargain for that long. That thought did cross my mind as well.
October 5, 200421 yr That thought did cross my mind as well. FWIW, I umpired a couple of games Rolen played in high school. He was also a very good basketball player, who was headed to the University of Georgia to play both basketball and baseball before he signed with Phillies. His home is less than 4 hours from St. Louis and he is just a perfect fit for that city, organization, etc.

They are very good at keeping their fans happy by keeping fan favorites and not possibly letting get away. Ala albert pujols.
October 5, 200421 yr Rolen for Lee I think it's fair and St. Louis needs in OF. Why not have them throw in Pujols too? :headshake

October 5, 200421 yr That trade wont happen unless your playing playstation. With fair trades turned off
October 5, 200421 yr If there was a chance for that trade to happen, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat.
