November 8, 200421 yr Despite an apparent rib injury to unbeaten rookie quarterback Craig Krenzel that required postgame X-rays, the Bears (3-5) headed home believing a defense that created five turnovers could carry them back into playoff contention. Whether Krenzel will be healthy enough next weekend at Tennessee to try to win his third straight NFL start remained unclear Sunday night. He winced as he buttoned his shirt in the locker room, and the Bears made him unavailable for comment. Please no. I never want to see JQ on the field again. :banghead
November 8, 200421 yr How bout Chad "I'll get sacked more than Kurt Warner did today in 1 quarter" Hutchison.
November 8, 200421 yr Can things get any worse for this team? Just when they look like they are getting a little something together and making themselves look just a little bit less pathetic this has to happen. ARRGH!!
November 8, 200421 yr So who would start, Hutch or Quinn? I'd just put ATrain and Jones in the backfield and snap it to either one, then run off of that
November 8, 200421 yr Is it me, or despite the notion that today's nfl players are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever before, they're more injury prone than ever before?
November 8, 200421 yr Is it me, or despite the notion that today's nfl players are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever before, they're more injury prone than ever before? Because the players are bigger, stronger, and faster, they inflict more pain upon the opponents they hit.
November 8, 200421 yr Please no. I never want to see JQ on the field again. :banghead :headshake I'd rather see Hutchinson play. Even if he doesn't know the system as well, anything is better than Quinn... :puke Dare I say...Cade McNown?

November 8, 200421 yr Because the players are bigger, stronger, and faster, they inflict more pain upon the opponents they hit. But wouldn't be being bigger, stronger, and faster, help you to better withstand those hits?
November 8, 200421 yr But wouldn't be being bigger, stronger, and faster, help you to better withstand those hits? Muscles may be bigger, but things like tendons and ligaments have a lot more stress put on them. There is no real way to strengthen the the tendons and ligaments. There is also no way to get bones more dense so they won't break. Also we know how to diagnose nuerological injuries such as concussions, which would have been let go in the past.

That's exactly right. And if it were up to me, I'd have everyone doing something similar to what Payton did in the offseason. All the while, Payton's weight-training regimen in the offseason became legendary. Besides lifting, his daily routine included runs along the obstacles near the Pearl River in Mississippi. He ran through "The Sand" (65 yards worth of beach) or up "The Levee" (a 45-degree slope).
November 8, 200421 yr The Score just reported that Krenzel is fine & he'll be ready to go this Sunday.
November 8, 200421 yr Strahan and Washington (Giants D-Line) out for the season. Strahan with a torn pectoral muscle and Washington with a torn ACL
November 8, 200421 yr Anyone ever notice when one drops, they all drop. Im not saying guys fake injury's or whatever, but if the Bears were 5-2 I dont think as many guys would have gone down with injury's. Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I just find it odd how when a few big guys go down, it seems like the whole team follows. I don't think they're faking, atleast I hope not. I was just wondering why these guys today seem so much more injury prone. Not just the nfl, but the nba as well. Southsider2k4 made a good observation. I think a lot of these guys today overdo it in the weight room.

Tucker, Miller, Terrell, Washington, Traylor -- 2002 was injury hell too...
