Now that Kenny has seen both Vizquel and Kendall vanish before his eyes, could we see both Paulie and Carlos on this team next year? Paulie is going to put up better numbers than Gload and I think Kenny would be hard-pressed to find a replacement as consistent as Carlos in LF. Although I think at least one of these guys will be traded for pitching or the like, could Kenny actually go into next season with both of these Sox? I know its really in the off-season, but at this point, I am not sure where Kenny wants to go for offensive production. IMO, he would be crazy to get rid of both, however, keeping these two might inhibit Kenny from perfecting the rotation.

I really dont know what to think anymore with the direction there going in. There obviously is alot of time left in the off-season, but I havent heard the Sox rumored much at all in the FA starting pitchers makret. Kenny came out and said his main goal this offseason is to get a front line starter, and bullpen help. I have heard NOTHING in terms of us looking for bullpen help so far.

 

What I still think, or I guess hope is going to happen, is we will sign one of Perez/Clement/Lowe/Radke ect.... then trade Paul or Lee for a stud bullpen guy and mabye another young arm.

Nobody on this team is sacred. If KW can make a deal that will help this team involving Konerko or Lee or anyone else I'm all for it but if you deal them you have to replace their production somehow and thats not all that easy to do, especially on this budget.

If either one of them goes, I hope the heck it's not Lee. As much as I like Konerko's power numbers, Lee has more to offer to help our club. He can hit, field, steal bases, and hopefully learn to bunt. Plus, he's still "HUNGRY" to play well! Konerko can't run(whether to steal a base, or beat out a ground ball), fielding is OK, and hits into an ocean full of double plays. As far as bunting, it ain't gonna happen. Don't get me wrong, I like Konerko a lot, but he only has one thing to offer..........Power! Nothing wrong with that, but there are plenty of times when you need other options. That's where C. Lee comes in! Plus..... I don't think we've even seen the best of C. Lee yet!

At this point if I had to bet I'd bet they are both back and we sign a 5th SP but that could certainly change. Kenny showed last year that he wouldn't trade the boppers for less in return and I'd imagine he'll feel the same this winter.

For once you are correct, KW has even gone on record as saying that LEE os not for sale..Though I pretty sure if someone offered say..Ichro..I sure KW would listen.. But we all know that will never happen.

Lee isn't untouchable and shouldn't be. BTW, I have never read anything that KW went on record saying that about Lee.

If I had a choice to trade Pauly or Lee.. I would trade Pauly in a heart beat.

 

Finding a slow footed 1b who can mash in USCF.. Those are hard to come by

I'm not quibbling over your main point, that Pk should be traded over Lee. Yet Lee could bring about a lot of talent via a trade, so I wouldn't rule anything out. But you do seem to be putting words in KW's mouth, that I haven't seen or heard uttered elsewhere. I hadn't heard anything about trading PK over Lee. I know some writers have put that in print, but no direct quotes from KW. that is a big difference.
