Bottom 6

WGN AGAIN is late returning to the game. That is unacceptable. :nono

- Berger grounds out to Jose for the first out

- Harvey hits one softly past Konerko for his 2nd double of the game

- Berroa grounds weakly to Jose for out #2. Harvey stays put

- Mayne grounds one...it's saved from going into RF by Jimenez...Harvey rounds 3rd too far, there's a run-down, and it's BEAUTIFULLY handeled, as Harvey is tagged out at the plate. Nice D by the Sox on that play

86 pitches so far for Buehrle, and he's through 6, but trails it 2-0

86 pitches opening day...wonder if thats it for buehrle???

we know manuel likes to keep these guys pitch counts down early in the season...despite only giving up two runs buerhle has been struggling..he has about 3 fly balls to the warning and two guys thrown out at the plate...runners getting on base every inning...he has been lucky..maybe we ought not to push it on a day when mark doesnt have his good stuff

I was able to kick the old ladies off the TV in the lunch room...

Why they are not coming back to the game in time I have no idea. And when they do come back.. pan the crown for Mark's family.. ummm... who cares. Game on the field.. hello!!

So Frank does good and get's his fat ass to third.. but f's up at home. Why not just stay at 3rd..?

Ugh.. should have just stayed at my desk.

and he gets shot down at home, with an infield nubber.

in fairness to frank with a runner on first if there is any doubt you gotta go or you risk standing on 3rd watching a DP..but there was no way randa would turn two...

oh..have i said that carlos lee sux yet???

Top 7

Jason Grimsley in for the Royals

- Thomas (1-1; single, walk) walks on 4 pitches, and looked very nice doing it

- Ordonez (0-2) grounds one in the hole, off Randa's glove, it dies in short LF, and Frank very nicely goes into 3rd. 1st and 3rd, 0 out

- Konerko (0-2) grounds to Randa, who throws out Frank at home (not Frank's fault, he did the right thing IMO). And why the f*** did Paul leave the bat right there at home? That's the last thing we'd need, is Frank injuring himself on that play. 1st and 2nd, 1 down

- Lee goes down on 3 pitches. WTF, he didn't know that he had 2 strikes on him? Unacceptable (on the replay, he's right, the first pitch SHOULD have been called a ball, but the ump called it a strike)

- Crede strikes out, and the Sox WASTE a golden opportunity to get back in this game. Not exactly in mid-season form to say the least.

Through 6 1/2, we're in trouble, down 2-0

Bottom 7

Buehrle still in there for his 7th inning of work

- Bunt attempt by Febles (I think) fielded very nicely by Konerko, who dives and puts the tag on for the 1st out

- Tucker flies out to Rowand, and very quickly there are 2 down

- Randa hits Mark's 96th pitch of the game into the gap in right center, and Aaron makes a very nice diving catch to end the inning

That will be it for Mark. 7 IP and 2 ER is very acceptable. He was helped, though, by his offense. That catch by Aaron, an early relay play that got a runner out at home, and the nice play by D'Angelo saved a total of at least 2 runs. He didn't have his best stuff by any stretch, but as usual, he gave the Sox a chance to win. Let's see if the offense can get it together.
