December 22, 200421 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1951346 Boy, if the Yankees sign Beltran, it basically comes down to Magglio being the best OF available.
December 22, 200421 yr I don't think the 5 years part is the worry as much as the 11 mill is. He has had only 1 bad year outside of his rookie year. However, I don't think his numbers warrant 11 mill per. He's only 29, I don't see why 5 years is too much.
December 22, 200421 yr 11 mil, 5 years for a guy who misses 20 or so games a year and has yet to drive in 100 runs. one of the more overrated guys out there.
December 22, 200421 yr Good. I was really worried that the Cubs were going to make an attempt to land this guy. I think when healthy, he's one of the best hitters in baseball. Definitely didn't want to see him in Cubby pinstripes...

There is no way he should have even sniffed 5 years. 11 million is pretty outrageous too. He's never hit more than 100 RBI's in a season.
December 22, 200421 yr And in a move that does not need its own thread, Joe "Sox Killer" Randa is now on the Reds...1 yr./2.15 mil deal.
December 22, 200421 yr If I was a mod in this forum, I'd edit the title to just say "Drew to the Doctors".
December 22, 200421 yr i know im not alone but i really dont understand some of these contracts this year.
December 22, 200421 yr If I was a mod in this forum, I'd edit the title to just say "Drew to the Doctors". And whoever said Borass pwns the Dodgers, two words. Darren Driefort.
December 22, 200421 yr Pee Hands Alou is off the market -- 2 yr. $13+ mil contract with the Giants reportedly.
December 23, 200421 yr It's amazing that the Dodgers weren't able to offer Beltre a deal worth the same as what they gave for Drew. Depodesta... :rolly
