Ahh, a Snowday....they always seem to call it after you've woken up and are wide awake..well at least when it was called back in middle school..what good is a snowday if you can't get an extrahour or 2 of sleep?
January 6, 200521 yr QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Ahh, a Snowday....they always seem to call it after you've woken up and are wide awake..well at least when it was called back in middle school..what good is a snowday if you can't get an extrahour or 2 of sleep? Yea, I remmeber back in high school when they had us go to school even though the storm wasn't getting any better so once like 1 o'clock rolled around they realised said fact and let us leave. Dopes. Anyhow it looks like the snow has finally stopped here, in dupage that is. Isn't it supposed to be like 40 something oer the weekend so a buch of this will melt?
January 6, 200521 yr We got 17 inches. Highest in E. Iowa from waht I've read. Some drifts are four foot tall. At least we got 2 days of school off.
January 6, 200521 yr Anyone remember about 10 years ago when they cancelled school because it was so cold? I don't think there was any snow, but like -40 degrees with windchill. That was a sweet snow day because parents weren't on me to do anything since it was deathly cold out... but alas, I went to 2 private colleges (Elmhurst for under and DePaul for Law), so there were zero snow days.... classes went on on 9/11 too!!
January 6, 200521 yr QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) We have 5-7 inches so far. We have a little less here. Northern Iowa didn't get nailed as bad here.
January 6, 200521 yr Heheh, still got an inch of ice and they just called a 2 hour delay. Hopefully another snow day.

That was January of 1994. It was like 20 below zero or so at night for that whole week. It was.....c-c-c-c COLD!
