MLB Drug Policy a Joke

Featured Replies

If you guys can, tune into Bores and Bernsie on The Score. THey are talking about MLB's new drug policy. Apperently HGH is banned, but MLB is not testing for it.

So then what is the point of banning it if you have no way to inforce the banning?

its a pretty horrible policy

At first it seemed great! MLB actually seemed t get some balls. But when the finner details come out, MLB is a bunch of wimps. But mark my words..... Fox and ESPN will priase it to no end.

i dunno about that, on ESPN last night some guy was ripping it apart.

When i first saw it, i thought "hey...looks like they're finally trying to fix it." guess i was wrong

These policies never go from A--------> Z immediately. They went from A

there not testing because there is no test for HGH.

Let the loopholes begin!!!!

MLB is a joke when it comes to this stuff. Nothing productive can get done for the good of the sport because the damned union is always making sure they are getting something for the players in exchange for something that the rest of the world has always dealt with.

here is what I need to know:

A guy is outted the 1st time he's busted?

Is it random or mandatory?

Do they know when they will be tested ahead of time?

Everyone, 100% of all players, are going to be tested during the season. I didn't see if it would be a scheduled date, how much notice the players would be given, etc. I wonder about the call ups, do they piss in the bottle on the way to the stadium?

that would be something wouldn't it :lolhitting

I liked the minimum once per year testing for every player. The year-round stuff could be difficult since players live all over the world during the offseason.

The punishments look like they're set in stone for the first through fourth offenses. Selig has the final say for a fifth offense.

THere is a blood test for it, but the players refuse to take blood test.

Interesting.... the guy filling in for Dan Patrick just ripped MLB for not having strong enough testing under the new rule. *thumbs up*
