Chris Young got added to the Spring Training roster per whitesox.com

 

Minor league outfielders Chris Young and Jerry Owens both were added to the Spring Training roster Monday. Owens was acquired from Washington in the trade for Alex Escobar just three days before pitchers and catchers reported, while Young hit .262 with 24 home runs and 56 RBIs for Class A Kannapolis in 2004. Young led the Intimidators in games (135), triples (five), home runs, stolen bases (31), runs scored (83), total bases (235), walks (66) and strikeouts (145).

Chris after week one is hitting .160 here in Bham. But is showing signs of life with a towering Homerun Monday in North Carolina. Great Defense as well

Like Bham said it's his long swing. Supposedly he had trouble seeing curveballs at some point last year, but he does draw walks pretty well so it's not a patience issue.

Young is scuffling pretty badly right now.

Tonight Young hit his 3rd homer of the season while going 2-4, 2B, HR, 2 R, 1 RBI

He also made a webgem caliber grab

Well AA is a big jump for him so im glad he still seems to have his power stroke in a big ballpark against a lot tougher competition.

Chris picked up his first 3 hit game Thursday Against Jacksonville and followed it tonight in Montgomery with 2 Rocket Doubles.

Chris Young Seconds before Homerun #4, Chris now has 7 Bombs and to put that in perspective Jeremy Reed had 7 the whole second half and 2 weeks in the playoffs.

A lot of his K's were early in the year he did K 4 times on Wensday but before that was doing a lot better

Except his avg is over .200 and he actually is hitting HR's

Young isn't a free swinger, he just works the count A LOT and strikes out looking a lot. When I saw him in Kanny last year, it seemed every count went full on him, he really works out the pitcher.
