Tell me the basis of this statement, because here are some facts squarely against it;

 

- US Cell is extremely beneficial to RH Power Hitters

- He is not coming into training camp overweight, which was an early rumor in the off-season.

- Had splits of .293/.340/.481 against RHP

 

Although his home splits are definitely much better than his away stats, I can't see much of a reason to think Uribe will be a bust for about $2,500,000 next season, compared to other SS's in this league (you know who I'm talkin about).

For once I agree with ya.. I don't care if willie hit .400 in the minors.. that doesn't mean squat until you hit in the majors which Pods has done.

The thing is with Harris, a lot of us at this time last year thought he was going to be nothing more than a AAAA player, someone who's too good for AAA, but not good enough to be an effective everyday player. Still for all those Willie bashers, .262 with a .343 OBP wasn't the worst statistics for a second baseman in the league, especially for Willie in his 1st "full" season in the majors.

So .70 points lowein in Avg 200 in Slugging, and 70 in OBP.. but Uribe wasn't a fluke hitting in the Cell.. He doesn't deserve the money we are giving him.

 

What other SS, the one that has won something? Look get over the Cabrea trip we all know we lost out on a great player cause KW was to stupid to realize it., so instead we waste money on a player who can barely hit his weight on the road, and wonder why we can't win here

You're not going to find many productive everyday players who can hit better away at a pitcher's park than one hitting at home in a hitters park.

Just looking at that contract, if Buerhle continue on with his great form over the next few seasons, how big of a bargain will that contract be compared to other starting pitchers around the league?

I can guarantee there will be a Cabrera-O-Meter in somebody's sig this season.

FWIW, Aaron did tell me that at the end of the year they talked to him about moving.. same time they mentioned a new deal.

Center of attention, revisited: It looks as if Rowand could be back in center and Scott Podsednik in left, according to Guillen's comments Wednesday. Guillen seemed less concerned about Rowand hurting himself playing center, stating that Rowand had earned the spot and he could get hurt playing anywhere in the outfield. But nothing is definite.

 

The outfield already has changed twice in Guillen's mind since the start of Spring Training.

 

"My best guy right now in center field is Aaron," Guillen said. "We are looking to do the best we can defensively."
