February 26, 200521 yr Has anyone heard whether or not Jenks is in camp at this point? Is he working out with the team? Is he healthy? Where does he expect to start the year? Will he get any innings in this spring? I haven't read anything about him or the status of his injury. Any information out there would be appreciated.
February 26, 200521 yr The only thing I heard regarding Jenks is that KW told him along with others not to press themselves during spring training to try an earn a spot because the 5 man rotation is set. KW told them just to improve their game and get ready for the upcoming minor league season. I would have to assume he is in camp right now based on what KW said, but I could've sworn he wasn't going to be able to pitch until May.
February 26, 200521 yr I thought I remember hearing that he was rehabbing and would be ready for ST or the beginning of the minor league season. I'll try to find the info for you Aboz.
February 26, 200521 yr http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...1&st=&p=entry That is the post I could find about him rehabbing and maybe being ready for ST. That is about all I remember and all I have heard about him.
February 27, 200521 yr I just hope they don't try to use him as a starter. He really needs to just be kept in the pen.
February 27, 200521 yr I Bobby Jenks. If he can keep his act together, he has a serious future as a closer.
February 27, 200521 yr QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) when he is healthy is he more likely to be in winston-salem or birminham ???

February 27, 200521 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Try Charlotte. Doubtful, he's been out of pro ball for two long to be sent to a AAA hitter's park. He'll be in B-Ham.
February 27, 200521 yr I recall seeing a Sox guy who looked like a lumberjack in the background of a picture of some regulars. I'll try and find it. It didn't sound like anyone else in camp so it could be him
February 27, 200521 yr I'm old so I can't paste the picture. But the picture from the Tribune ST gallery from the 24th where Garland is stretching with Ryan Meaux shows a big guy in the back, with a number in the 60's. Could be Jenks. -----Pitcher Jon Garland, right, uses the shoulder of his teammate Ryan Meaux as he stretches. (Tribune photo by Nuccio DiNuzzo) February 24, 2005
February 27, 200521 yr Author If that's the photo you are referring to, I'm fairly confident that it's not Jenks in the background.
