On the Murph(sp?) show on wscr the score he asked the listerners to call in and say who they thought would last longer in Chicago: Dusty, Ozzie, Scotty, Lovie. Just about everyone said Ozzie. Of course u have to have the clueless cub fans say Dusty. someone even said he would get an extension. if manuel can be here for 7 yrs and hardly win, ozzie will be here for a while. hes the face of the team. even if the sox dont win, he'll still be here. what do u's think? in 05

What are you talking about? The Cubs are guaranteeing that Wood and Prior are fine and that they will be ready for opening day. You don't trust them?

You heard it here first. 2005 will be Dusty's last season with the Cubs, I don't even think he will finish the season. The expectations are so high, and that team is built like a house of cards. A couple of injuries (Prior, Wood ?) that linger could easily mean a freefall for that team. If Zambrano gets hurt, or any more of their prize pitchers, Dusty will be slammed about his handling of young pitchers through media leaks, and will be run out of town, just like Corky Juiceboy.

Hopefully he'll still be around when they play Pittsburgh, Mackowiak is gonna tear it up against them, I wish KW would trade for him

hate to bring it to you but this wouldnt be the 1st place i heard it . But two things.

 

1. He will last the rest of the season no matter what happens

 

2. If they do make the playoffs which is possible he has at least another 2 years.

If Dusty departs it won't be because his players are trying to get rid of him.

 

It's no wonder why Dustry is widely considered to be a "player's manager;" he lets his players do whatever they want! He has zero control over his clubhouse.

 

This also applied to his time in San Fransico. When you have two players literally push eachother in the dugout, something is seriously wrong. He screwed up that entire situation. Oh yeah, how about letting his son run on to the field during play.

 

On the Northside:

 

-Didn't move Sammy down the order because he was the "Great Sammy Sosa." Big effing deal. When you are slumping, you need to be moved down the order, especially the way a few of the others were hitting.

 

-Continued to put LaToya in save situations.

 

-Allowed all conduct in the clubhouse.

 

-Sits his son on his lap during post-game press conferences. Complete lack of professionalism.

 

-He allowed his players (HIS!) to run out a broadcasting duo. That is simply unacceptable. What happens in the booth should stay in the booth. Those guys had no right to run those two out of town. The Cub players completely ran the show. If Dusty had a pair, he would have sat his players down and told them to worry about producing W's (which they were not). It also opened up a scapegoat situation.

 

If that isn't enough, he is also documented as being a horrible game-day manager. So, we have a guy who is awful on the field and lets his players call the shots off the field...real nice.

 

I doubt he is the first gone. He's perfect for the Northside.

Dusty will be gone at the end of the year. He's ruined there franchise by running his pitchers into the ground like a jagbag.

 

Sucks too because I happen to like Prior and Wood, even Zambrano.

I think Dusty would be the first to go. Remember, he really didn't want to go to Chicago, but all the other jobs were taken and he wanted to manage that year. Hell, I think he would've choosed the White Sox if they were there over the Cubs(IMHO). I think he'll jet once he gets the chance if he's not fired yet.

I just had this nightmarish image of that chump managing the sox and even being able to make the play offs again.

IMO...Both the managers for our teams might be gone.. Think about it..

 

If we fail this year KW should be gone, and Ozzie contract is up.. I would hope that the new GM gets to pick his Manager and not the Owner
