March 17, 200521 yr This about sums it up: Billy Koch needed just four spring training appearances to convince the Blue Jays they made a mistake.
March 17, 200521 yr I didn't see that coming. I kind of wished Billy made it. I was thought he was a stand up guy.
March 17, 200521 yr QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) He was a great guy. I want to know what the hell happened to his arm in Oakland. Ask Art Howe. Having him pitch 93 innings + all the times he had him warm up and sit down and warm up and sit down probably took a toll on him. Howe used the guy, they pumped saves into him to boost his trade value and shipped out damaged goods.
March 17, 200521 yr I would venture to guess that even if his MRI shows nothing, that surgery couldn't hurt him.
March 18, 200521 yr I'd give him a minor league deal. Go ahead and mock me, but vets who used to be good and are "washed up" can come back. Thats all.

March 18, 200521 yr Billy is a stand up guy, and I wish him the best. I wish there was a place on the team for him because it seemed like he gelled with the guys despite poor outing after poor outing. Edited March 18, 200521 yr by BaseballNick

I don't want him around with his poor outing after poor outing ever again. He was a stand-up guy - his pitching made the opponents laugh almost every time. I did admire the fact that he never made excuses for himself, but that's not reason enough to want him back. He can work for ESPN when Harold Reynolds finally gets a GM job....
March 18, 200521 yr his reunion wiht Rick Peterson will be interesting. He still hasn't been released by tampa so there are a few more stops on the major league experience
March 19, 200521 yr good, its bad to be happy at another persons problems but this guy blew so many games he made me so mad!

I agree that route can be effective. In this case, I think someone needs to get to the root of the problem before wasting a top AAA or AA spot on someone who may never reach the MLB roster. I really like Koch. He was a stand up guy when he was here. I really appreciated his attitude and desire.
