Another Sox Preview

Featured Replies

Not a bad preview, but I wish when people did these things they'd do their research.

Of course, the additions of Hernandez and Contreras -- the former declined with the Yankees as he aged, the latter never fulfilled New York expectations -- are far from a guarantee, and fifth starter Jon Garland has yet to live up to his billing. But there is a kid in camp named Brandon McCarthy who seems destined to crack the rotation soon, and if Contreras isn't effective, he could always be moved to the bullpen. And by signing Hernandez and Contreras, the Sox moved lefty Scott Scoeneweis out of the rotation and back into the bullpen.

Anyway, here's the article.

did their research, or... stoped hitting the crack pipe and put down the bottle

There has been some shoddy journalism this spring.

But it just hasn't been toward the White Sox.

Several spring preview and off-season articles from many publicatins have been shoddy.

So many moves not reaserched, so many players forgotten.

Even though we focus mostly on the Sox, our Sports Bar section is more factual than other sports news outlets!

lol looks that way.

I sent him a scathing email. In my work, I have virtually no margin for error. There's no excuse for this kind of sloppy reporting. I can say in all honesty that the quality of journalism in general has fallen off a cliff in my lifetime. Sports journalism is probably the worst.

I have seen some sloppy stuff this year too. Otheryears as well.

There wasn't even mention of Tadihito in some baseball books. I think they must start trying to put these books togther in November in order to beat the competition to the newstands.

As of right now this story is the top story on CBS SportsLine. Headline: "Changing their Sox"...
