In that respect the Admins & Mods of SOXTALK represent the State & I support their right to regulate speech here as they see fit.  I think they do a fair job at it but I do have one recommendation:  instead of removing a thread create an offensive forum.  This would be the bit bucket for anything you feel is to offensive for the common good of the forum.

That will never happen, sorry.

The reason there are rules is so that people follow them. If you don't, you end up banned/suspended or edited.

Making a separate, free-for-all forum similar to what you speak of would be a bad idea for the image of the site.

Remember there are people who read the site from inside the White Sox organization and intelligent people who like to have intelligent conversation rather than sift through a bunch of garbage, similar to what was posted by the starter of this thread which I had to edit.

There are plenty of forums on the internet to which you can go argue with people, attack them and post porn. This won't be one of them.

I agree with you there. If you were to do it you would have to keep minors away from it. That would mean having an age question at the time of signup & only allowing those over the age of 17 access. The code needed to implement it would mean more work for a questionable gain. I wholeheartedly respect your decision not to do it.

I remember debating this issue over the use of humorous or sarcastic terms relating to group affiliations. I forgot that SOX fans come in all ages & that SOXTALK would like to retain an image of being a family friendly & fan frienly site. I withdraw my support for the usage of those terms. I would like to believe my own kids someday could become members of this site. In support of that I would hope SOXTALK would uphold the highest of standards.

I believe that's alcohol abuse.

You should never drink and drive either. You might hit a bump and spill your drink.
