So far this year, righties are hitting better than lefties against him. About the same as he was doing at this time last year. Let's please give him time.
April 19, 200520 yr Oh I'm definately not one that is saying "Make Hermanson our closer!" at all. Shinjo is still my closer on this team. But I think he should be given a bit shorter leash at the moment, till its evident that he is using the pitches at his command to get guys out. A la quit throwing that GD 85 mph fastball, it isnt gonna fool anyone without them seeing teh frisbee mixed in there. Shinjo is still my man.

I agree with the shorter leash comment, and I believe you'll be seeing that for a while. I don't think Shingo would have pitched to Mauer in a one run game and any further sign of trouble, he would have been pulled.
