That makes two young Athletics inked through their arbitration years in Harden and Crosby. Pretty good deal. Hopefully Crosby can bounce back from his injury.

I don't know much about Crosby, but this could backfire big time. For example, what if the Sox had done this with Caruso after his rookie season?

I don't think it will. From all reports he's a stand up guy who's a really hard worker. Over 20 HR's in his 1st season hitting in Oakland, and he hit over .300 in AAA. But there's always the dreaded sophomore slump or second year blues (as Aussies call it) isn't there.
