With Long coming in for DeJesus, why not bring in Marte to face him? Doubtful KC would have ph for him. If we're going to use Marte as a lefty specialist, might as well use it in big situations.

True, but Vizcaino is also very good against lefties...Either one a good choice.

Think we should walk Sweeney here to face Stairs? With Vizcaino being better against lefties than righties, I think it would be a smart decision.

So we dont let our best lefty reliever face a lefty hitter, and we let KC's best hitter beat us? I haven't been impressed by Vizcaino at all this season. His fastball is 3 mph slower than it was last year, and it's not like he's been a very consistent reliever in the past. His ERA was astronomical 2 seasons ago.

Funny thing is that no one else is warming up right now. Someone might want to wake up our manager.

I'm not the biggest fan of the whole lefty-mathchup idea. Use common sense, why do you let their only hitter hit in that situation?

Keep the faith. First time in awhile we've been burned by another team's goodluck. Both of those hits were softly hit. Stairs' hit would have been an easy out if Gooch wasn't positioned for the pull. Viz is still looking sharp.

Vizcaino is hanging his slider badly right now. If you're not going to throw fastballs, they're just going to sit on it.

I'm guessing that Ozzie has yet to learn why you shouldn't put 1 inning pitchers in for 2 innings. He better hope we win this game.

I am still trying to figure out how you pitch to Sweeney instead of Matt Stairs in that situation... that was friggin terrible choice there.

We created their luck that inning. T. Long is 0-11 for lhp this season, and batted .72 pts higher against rhp last season.

Now would be a good time for some of Crede's late inning heroics.

Hermy should of made an appearance...unless Ozzie has denoted him the closer, which he hasnt...Hermy should have been in. Broken bat basehit...Oh well, about time something bad happened to us.
