Jose Contreras Leg Injury

Featured Replies

Let the panic begin.

Jose Contreras of the White Sox left the game in the bottom of the 4th inning with an apparent leg injury.

I'm not a doctor or trainer, and I'm not at the game, but I'm going to speculate anyway with nothing to base it on....heh....

I'm thinking it's nothing major, since Jose could keep going. He hopped a bit after those two pitches he threw to Stairs, but he didn't seem to be in any huge pain.

The stars are alinged for the Sox. Next Thursday is an off day. Ozzie could just skip that start, keep everyone else on their normal days rest.

That is what I would do, keep Jose out to rest if can be.

Its a shame cause he was looking so good! :crying

it looks like he was throwing a hell of a game too 6k's to 1 bb.

He was throwing one of those dominate games against a bad hitting club that I was saying that Contreras would get his wins from. Hopefully all we have to do is skip his start and we'll be fine.

There's got to be a doctor in Vienna who has a creative new treatment for hamstring strains.... :D

if not, here comes mccarthy!

I heard McCarthy hasn't looked good his past 2 outings.

He hasn't.

I hope this is just some little injury that will heal with rest. Please god........please!

19 more for you until you reach a majikal feat.

ESPN 1000 is speculating that if his hammy isn't pulled he will probably make his next start. If Contreras' hammy IS pulled, he could miss 3 starts and B-Mac could be brought up.

If b-mac is brought up i might shoot my foot.

It's just speculation. Don't blow your foot off just yet. Hopefully, Contreras won't have to miss a start.

What do you guys think of bringing in another bullpen guy? We have five bench players and it seems like its hard to get them at bats especially when we need to keep our starters to find their swings.

It was a shame to see him come out so early cause he really had it working. Oh well. We still won and the injury appears to be pretty minor so we'll live.

Great news for us is that Contreras' next start would be on April 28th, which is an off day. They could just go with El Duque on April 29th and so on, and hopefully Contreras would be healthy enough to make his start on May 4th. That would give him 10 days to rest.

I don't think that's a bad idea at all. A little more depth in the pen couldn't hurt.

Who would be the odd man out Wille Harris, Ozuna, Ross Gload..... and than someone else has to go down again when Frank comes back.
