May 8, 200520 yr Heard on SportsCenter this morning that MLB is opening an internal investigation on Barry Bonds, following a federal investigation regarding possible tax evasion/tax fraud charges. Seems that there's serious concern that Bonds could actually face jail time if charged/convicted. "Hey Barry, how'd you do last season?" "Led the league in homers." "Really?? Which league?" "....California Penal....."
May 8, 200520 yr QUOTE(Texsox @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) It's a racist conspiracy to keep him from breaking Hank Aaron's record.
May 9, 200520 yr this is just typical mlb, turning on a guy who was the biggest attraction for the league the last three years, why don't they go after mcguire too

May 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 8, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) The MLB isn't even investigating Bonds the IRS is. I hope they nail his ass. I want to see him doing his perp walk and then whine about how racist America is when they slam the bars in front of his face.
May 9, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 8, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) The MLB isn't even investigating Bonds the IRS is. MLB is starting their own investigation in conjunction with the IRS investigation.
May 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(The Critic @ May 8, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) MLB is starting their own investigation in conjunction with the IRS investigation. I heard Pedro Gomez saying on ESPN yesterday that Major League Baseball will not be conducting their own investigation, instead they would monitor the continuing probe by the IRS into Barry Bonds.
May 9, 200520 yr Author Well, Pedro would know, he's been assigned to crawl into Bonds' jock for the summer....heh heh.... They were probably so jumpy to get the news out first that they didn't really wait to get the details 100% straight.....NAWWWWWWWW, that NEVER happens..............
