Why Willie was on the bereavement list...

"Harris returns from bereavement list

Utility man missed seven games due to death in family"

Harris had been notified that the mother of his 10-year-old daughter passed away in a car accident, and the White Sox utility infielder/outfielder knew that nothing was more important than going home to support his offspring.

:pray

Wow, Willie has a 10-year-old daughter? Isn't Willie only 26? Wow.

His baby's mother??? Was he married? Or did he go Shawn Kemp on her?

When he heard it happened, he was willing to play the day's game...so I'm guessing not married!

Most kids don't get married at 16. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say unexpected pregnancy.

Hope the daughter's ok, losing a parent that young has to be traumatic, especially since the mom was the primary caretaker.

I think we need to stop trying to examine the personal details of Willie Harris's life and let the family mourn in peace.

Thanks for saying that Yas.

I think it was nice of the White Sox to give him as much time off as he needed. It's time his daughter needed & it was nice for Wille to be there for her day in & day out like that.

But now it's back to baseball.

I hope he is learning something by watching Crawford this series.

I hope he's learning that you can do a lot for you team with infield hits.

Rest assured, he's not.

As for the tragedy, my prayers go out to him and his family. This sort of thing trumps the game of baseball.

Poor guy. Feel sorry for his daughter too. I wish him the best.

Maybe they meant 1 year old daughter

i cannot believe he has a 10 year old daughter!,...omg.... :crying
