White Sox vs. Dodgers 6/18/05 Game Thread

You're in bad shape when Joe Crede has your only 2 hits.

And the Padres just blew a bases loaded, no out opportunity. I trust the Twins will tie or take the lead in their half of the inning.

damnit right at him

Jayson Werth looks like Shawn Green.

2 hits against Elmer f***ing Dessens and Crede has both of them. Pathetic corpseball.

Cruddy has his AVG up to .244 now. That's awesome for him.

geez Carlos Lee is on a roll.. hr #17

"corpseball" is easily the most overused term on this forum

there's your strikeout...

DId DJ just say it is one of his most outstanding outings?

he's right. He's pitching a hell of a game despite being completely lost the first couple of innings

I think it's pretty outstanding that he's only given up 2 runs despite the fact that he has sucked and has no stuff tonight. Does that make it an outstanding outing? I don't know.

Come on Offense. Pick up Garcia here.

yeah he has recovered, guess I misunderstood the way he put it. I definitely wouldn'c call it one of his best ever outings

Might as well let Freddy go out there for the 7th. We might need the bullpen tomorrow with The Count going and so far Garcia has about 95 pitches.

Outstanding outing my ass. He's lucky as hell he hasn't given up 5-6 runs by now.

Ummm, no it isn't. Corpseball is making a sucky pitcher like Elmer f***ing Dessens look like an ace by only getting 2 hits off of him.

I can think of a hell of a lot pitchers that would love to be in line for a quality start despite sucking majorly.

How you get there doesn't mean s***. The fact is he's given up 2 runs in 6 innings.

That term has been used in at least half the game threads this season

Drew robs Pods, and I feel even worse.

And Iguchi flies out, his average is falling like a stone.

Drew makes a nice running catch... one down.

Doesn't the term fit tonight? I'm just waiting to hear Hawk say how Dessens is an ace-quality pitcher. :headshake :puke

The way you describe the term, yes.

I'm just sick of every time we go 6 up 6 down in sequence hearing "corpseball"

it's baseball, folks. The best hitters are out 2/3rds of the time or more.

Once again...

2 hits off of Elmer Dessens through 6 innings. That's pretty disgusting and worse than your 2/3'rds rule.

There's this concept I've heard of called "variance"...
