Do people really say that? I cannot imagine thinking to myself "Alright Jonny, 0.50 WHIP through 2" while at a game. I just thought WHIP was a good stat to make trades seem realistic and pitchers seem s***ty in arguments on a messageboard. I never thought there was an practical use for WHIP.

 

Yes, I picked him up as a FA before his first start and couldn't let him go since. Though he's been on a downslide, he looks real solid tonight. Ever since fantasy I appreciate WHIP a lot more.

That's a big improvement over him about a week ago...seemed like he was just hitting everything weakly.

 

Still struck out though. Would love to see him get his average up to .280 or .290 like it was a few years ago.
