July 11, 200520 yr I just bought a Jetta and didn't realize the one I bought requires premium gas... DOH'
July 12, 200520 yr About $2.45 here...I keep putting in $10 every other day hoping it will come down sooner rather than later so I can fill up but no such luck the past few days.
July 12, 200520 yr I hope oil prices continue to rise. This government is full of s***brain people who work for business tycoons and are slaves to big oil.
July 12, 200520 yr QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) About $2.45 here...I keep putting in $10 every other day hoping it will come down sooner rather than later so I can fill up but no such luck the past few days. Unless crude falls to about $50, gas isn't going down until at least Labor Day. As a matter of a fact if crude stays around $60, don't be surprised to see gas go up about another quarter a gallon in the short term.
July 12, 200520 yr I just drove back from Dallas to Austin yesterday and I saw everything from $2.29 to $2.07. I remember being in Austria with a native Austrian friend of mine and as we passed a gas station, I said, wow, your gas isn't that expensive (after doing the money conversion in my head), then she says, Oh yes it is, and I say, Oh no, it isn't and then she says, Oh yes it is, cuz that's the price per liter!!! Which is to say it was, at the time around $1.25 per liter and 1 liter is .26 of a gallon. So there's $5 a gallon!!! Yikes.
July 12, 200520 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) I admit the prices SUCK! But let's have fun, let's have one of our UK folk tell us their prices!!! Ok are you sat comfortably. Here in England petrol is averaging 85.6 pence per litre. 1 UK Gallon = 4.54 Litres therefore 1 UK Gallon costs £3.89 There are 1.2 US Gallons to 1 UK Gallon therefore 1 US Gallon costs £3.24 at todays exchange rate that is.................wait for it...................... $5.76 per Gallon! My Ford Focus costs $76.00 to fill. May I suggest you all stop your moaning and drive, drive, drive! Edited July 12, 200520 yr by DePloderer
July 12, 200520 yr I'm getting off lucky at 2.19 a gallon. But it isn't so much about the relative price of gas as much as the jump. In early June, I was paying 1.85 a gallon.
July 12, 200520 yr QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) I'm getting lucky at 2.19 a gallon. Congratulations. I'd like to get lucky but I don't know if I could come up with a gallon. How much time do you get?
July 12, 200520 yr ways to make gas cheaper: 1. dont pay and just leave 2. complain that you have eye problems 3. create your own 4. have your friend pay it and dont pay back 5. dont drive period 6. get a solar car 7. ride a bicycle 8. wait for the nearest tow truck
