Has anyone on this board gone to a sox game alone or goes to them alone all the time? Just curious, cause it is hard sometimes to find people to go everytime you want to go. So lets hear it.

 

The only game I went to alone in Chicago was a game vs the Cubs at Wrigley. I go to games alone all the time when I travel for work. Not necessarily Sox games though.

 

I will be at the Ballpark at Arlington at the end of August to catch the Sox. If anyone else is going let me know. Maybe we can meet up for a beer.

I don't go to major leagues games much, but I go to minor league games alot. It's a great way to relax and enjoy a good game of baseball. Get a scorecard and keep score during the game!

Id say I go by myself like half the time when I go. The tough part about being back in Chicago and on vacation is that nobody else is ever on vacation at the same time.

Just the other day I was listening to Carmen & Silvy on the radio, and they were ripping on people who go solo; they were talking about Carol Slezak who went to Wrigley Field and US Cellular solo in one day, saying 'doesn't she have any friends, that's so weird' etc. So now I'm a little bit self-conscious about being seen at the Cell by myself. I work in the city, all my friends work in the suburbs, so its' easier just going alone sometimes. Should I still go alone on Monday night?

Absolutely Not! You should always base your descisions on what two, mildly talented DJs say on sports talk station.

I've gone to a few games by myself. I don't have many friends who are Sox fans (especially outside this board), so it's hard to get people to come out to the games sometimes. The only drawback on going by yourself is that you have no one to split parking and gas with, both of which are costly at this point in time. You also don't have anyone to talk about the game with. I'd almost rather go alone, though, then go with someone who isn't really into the game and will talk about stupid crap the whole time.

 

Going alone allows you some thinking time and to just enjoy nothing but the game in front of you. It's some great alone time.

 

However, going with a good friend and fan of the team/game can't be beat
