Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Burnett deal has been agreed upon as long as the Marlins will pay a portion of Mike Lowell's salary. Hopefully there will be more news soon.

wow, word was about a few hours ago that marlins would meet and decide early tonight on which course of action they woudl pursue. bob nightengale is usually legit, tho he did say we were gettin unit this offseason. at any rate, im excited

pay half of his contract. which would be 3.75 a year, and then tell another team that we will pay 1/2 of that, roughly 1.37 mil, and trade him for say....i dunno someone

I actually have hope for Lowell.  Maybe I've seen just so much of our offense lately, and I'm willing to give anyone a chance.

I'm actually thinking that Lowell will bust out of this horrible year long slump of his and become a good offensive player once again, hell he's been playing a whole hell of a lot better lately.

At first I didn't want him, but now I realize AJB is a great weapon in the postseason against AL teams who are unfamiliar with him. I'm excited if we don't lose too much major league talent.

Has he been playing better?  I haven't been following him.

His BA's for every month have risen considerably. I think .198, .220, .260 and now like .290. total guesses though.

The only reason why I wouldn't mind getting Burnett is for the attention and preventing the Blow Sox or some other AL team from getting him.
