August 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Both Clemens and Damon have told the press that these rumors are false. FWIW. Just like Raffy denied Jose's claims. :rolly
August 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) Both Clemens and Damon have told the press that these rumors are false. FWIW. Hmm...Well by denying the rumors all they have to say is they have "not yet heard they are to be suspended" which would be a truth even though they are aware they tested positive. For what it's worth (FWIW)
August 19, 200520 yr not sure if this already made it on the board but here you go. He says it's not true however he says if it was true someone messed with his drink or his results. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-baseball-print

"I'd be more than happy to take any test. There's no way. If I tested positive for something, it's going to be because someone threw something in a drink or did something like that."
August 19, 200520 yr QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) because Harry said it was not a chicago player. Ya I know just stirring the pot.

Courant Sports- Red Sox Article I relinked it because your link...well didn't work Another Interesting tidbit from that article IMO: It's uncertain where the rumor originated. Astros pitcher Roger Clemens and Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein were also mentioned as players who tested positive. Eckstein? Hmmm...because he hit three home runs this month?

August 19, 200520 yr As hard as it is to feel bad for these guys who test positive, I would feel bad for Eck because he is going through a lot of family junk off the field. Him testing positive could expose a hole in the system. Maybe there is something in a brand of protien that is showing up. MLB needs to educate all the players on this. Not just the Latin guys, everyone.

Not just the Latin guys, everyone. I see your point Brian. It's precisely because players don't know what may taint test results that they should either not take anything, or do what Mark B. claims Sox players do and that is to have everything tested by the coaching staff before taking it. The fault still falls on the player, IMO.

I'm having a hard time right now sorting through all these rumors...So are they going to announce all of those fifty names that didn't exist this afternoon? Talk about a s***-storm. The game of baseball will be better once all this goes down, if a number of big names get caught, new rules will be drawn up immediately. This is the best thing that can happen in the long run.
August 19, 200520 yr Between this potential announcement and the NASCAR announcement (two teams are going to Ford, not sure which level of NASCAR and supposedly the Wood Brothers are taking on a second team) I am going nuts! Just spit it out already! lol
