cell phone service

Featured Replies

I know many of you have asked this question before...

but I'm sick of Cingular (dropped calls like crazy) and I want to switch.

I think we're going with Verizon (BTW - I'm in Texas so local Chicago companies won't work - ie. US Cellular).

Which nationwide company do you all recommend?

Who has verizon? Are ya'll ok with it?

I used to have Verizon and didn't have any issues with them... are they still pretty reliable?

To be honest, your best bet is to look at one of those service maps what has where the best coverage is. Because, I think, regionally the best cell phone providers will vary. Where I am I have the best service with Cingular, but in Minnesota Cingular service was average at best.

So, I would say look to see which cellphone has the best coverage for your area and go with that.

I have Verizon and the coverage around here is very good. Judging by the coverage map that I have here with me, there is absolutely no coverage for Verizon users in the west part of Texas.

If I were you I much rather get T-Mobile. They have a great family plan.

Verizon rocks, although its a little more expensive than cingular/tmobile/att/etc

I'm really happy with it though.

We went with Verizon. West Texas is covered.

I got the phone with the TV plan... that phone kicks ass.

So now I get to watch TV on my cell phone.

Verizon is very good, that's what I have now because I have a national package now. When I was in chicago I had U.S. Cellular which was absolutely amazing service wise, unfortunately they don't cover carbondale.

We are ditching Cingular when our contract is up in November. They sucked worse than anything I have ever seen, and they customer service was worse.

We are either going to get VZ or go back to NXTL

Sprint is good. T-Mobile was terrible for me.

I had trouble with T-Mobile as well, especially their billing.

Back with Verizon, I am, I am.

Can you hear me now? GOOD!

Nextel kicks. i love it. I had AT&T before

I hated Nextel service. I liked Sprint, but I've been having customer service issues with them this year. After the merger, you'll see Nextel be a lot more like Sprint - just so you know.

Down here the giant sucking sound was Verizon. I couldn't get service in the middle of McAllen, and if their circuit was busy (which was always) it would bump me to the Cellular 1 towers and I would have to dial an area code.

I just switched all 5 of my phones to Cingular.

I use Cingular and it is the best service I've had since I have ever owned a cell phone. I get all 5 bars in Northwest Wisconsin, Iowa, South-Central Indiana, and in Southern Illinois. Upper Peninsula, Michigan too! I had T-Mobile before and it blew. Cingular is the way to go for me...

Cingular bites ass, at least here. I dropped at least two calls a day on it.

Verizon sucks for me. I have Cingular, but my girfriend and other friends have verizon and the reception is terrible and the calls are dropped all the time. Cingular isn't much better though..

I guess it all depends on what area you are in and where the company has it's satellites set up... :huh :)
