McCarthy to start on Thursday

Featured Replies

Sorry if this was already posted, but I read on the "other" White Sox website that McCarthy will start in place of El Duque on Thursday. I think this is a great move. I think it is at least one start too late and that he should have replaced El Duque earlier, but I think McCarthy is perfectly capable of continuing to pitch like he has recently.

Normally I'd be worried about sticking a rookie in a high-stress, playoff atmosphere but with BMAC I don't have that worry. I remember hearing Steve Stone and the other ESPN guys interview BMac during spring training...that kid REALLY has his s*** together. Very well spoken and focused. He gave me the impression that he feeds on pressure. I don't think he'll have any problems on Thu.

Did you get a chance to watch the Boston game? Man alive did that kid dominate that lineup. If Boston can't get to him...then he should be able to just dismantle Minnesota. Let's just hope his pitches show up that day.

Should have been done 2 starts ago.

Thank God! It's good to hear BMac is getting to start again after all these crappy El Duque starts we've been getting used to. Good to get El Duque some rest too.

Unfortunately, due to working the night before, I was asleep during that game. I wish I had gotten to see it.

Thank God!!!!

But please.............PLEASE!!!If things go wrong dont let it be his last chance this season to start. El Duque got like...8 second chances..Its only fair just to let Mccarthy finish the year as a starter.

If McCarthy messes up, will it be Ozzie's fault for starting a rookie in a tough situation?

I don't think so. Ozzie's making the right decision and even if BMac gets roughed up by the tough twinkie offense it can't be worse than what El Duque did against them on Saturday. Also, does anyone know who he'll be facing in this game? Will it be Santana again? If so that would really suck.
