Another trend the White Sox need to buck

Featured Replies

One of the hosts mentioned that the last 3 times the White Sox were eliminated in the playoffs, John Olerud was on the other team. He now plays for the Red Sox.

:o

Never realized it.

3?

1993, 2000 Olerud was on the team that beat the Sox.

1983, he was in elementary school.

Last 3 times? I count two...93 and 2000. Pretty sure Johnny would be fairly old if he beat us back in 83.

Yeah, I checked baseball-reference, and it was the last 2. They were probably getting ahead of themselves and counting THIS year as well. :nono :finger

The last 3 times? That can't be right. 1993 and 2000 are OK, but he wasn't playing in 1983.

Oops you guys are all over that, my bad :bang

I don't belive that Olerud will be the main focus of the WSox in this series.

I'm thinking that the LF and DH will be more of a concern.

Most definitely, it's just one of those weird coincidences.

Relax, it's the Rickey Henderson factor, not the John Olerud factor....

Rickey says "John Olerud ain't gonna beat the White Sox. No, if you wanna beat the White Sox you need Rickey. But Rickey ain't playing, so the White Sox be winning"

What's the story with this "Ramirez" fellow and that "Ortiz" guy? Are they any good?

Baseball reference?

It's not like we make it to the playoffs that often.

They have that great player Manny Ortez.

Maybe third time is the charm for the White Sox ;) .

They made the post-season roster by the skin of their teeth I hear. :D
