May 14, 200322 yr If he continues that, he'll have his job back in no time. Prop to JM for staying with Botch. Comes in with a 1-0 lead and gets his 2nd save of the season, it should give him a huge confidence boost.
May 14, 200322 yr Author it should give him a huge confidence boost. Exactly how I felt. And most people here don't think Manuel has balls. He proved those nay-sayers wrong tonight. Even I considered grabbing the Pepto tonight....but didn't need it. It just proves one more thing....this organization IS getting a little smarter regarding coaches. Last year, had we had Koch, he'd be on the DL right now with a torn labrum or a torn rotator cuff. This year, with Cooper, he gets his fourth (or however many it is) save of the year. The bullpen is now going to be headed in the right direction, IMO. The two pitchers struggling the most - Gordon and Koch - both came through and helped us get a win. Pretty good game, especially if you like pitcher's duels. And we beat Daal's ass....serves that son of a b**** right for turning down the contract we offered him and signing with a s***ty-ass team in Baltimore.
May 14, 200322 yr a confidence boost maybe... but i would rather go with marte as the regular... hes more reliable..........let botch come in only when we have a huge lead.....
May 14, 200322 yr Author a confidence boost maybe... but i would rather go with marte as the regular... hes more reliable..........let botch come in only when we have a huge lead..... I guess that was a big enough lead for Manuel.
May 14, 200322 yr How in the hell did he just do that? Not sure how, but he did it. I'm really concerned about the Sox offense, god they better explode with 10 runs tomorrow. CWSOX45
May 14, 200322 yr Author For someone who watched...how did Koch look? Was he bringing heat, or what? cdub45.....you ain't the only one concerned about the offense. Get Ward out ASAP.
May 14, 200322 yr Not much heat, lots of offspeed, her dropped a few "hammers". He looked real sharp tonight.
May 14, 200322 yr Author Not much heat, lots of offspeed, her dropped a few "hammers". He looked real sharp tonight. Atleast he has some other pitches working for him. That alone makes me a little happier.
May 14, 200322 yr Atleast he has some other pitches working for him. That alone makes me a little happier. I wasn't paying attention to the gun, but he had his breaking ball working tonight.
May 14, 200322 yr Comes in with a 1-0 lead and gets his 2nd save of the season, it should give him a huge confidence boost. Believe it or not, that was Botch's 4th save according to Hawk
May 14, 200322 yr How in the hell did he just do that? Not sure how, but he did it. I'm really concerned about the Sox offense, god they better explode with 10 runs tomorrow. CWSOX45 We hit about .285 tonight. not great, but a lot better than the last few games. It's not about getting hits though, it's about getting hits that matter.
May 14, 200322 yr At least Guido will be happy. He has Botch on his fantasy team Wait, today's Tuesday, that means Teenage Rules was on. I bet that made him happier.
May 14, 200322 yr Wasn't JM ejected before Koch came in. I know they say the manager still makes the calls even if he isn't in the dugout, but if I saw it right he was ejected on the play at 2nd where Thomas was safe, but was called out.
May 14, 200322 yr At least Guido will be happy. He has Botch on his fantasy team I'd have him on the bench.
May 14, 200322 yr They say Cooper and Koch have worked out some flaws Billy had with his mechanics. We all seem to think Cooper's a pretty good pitching coach. Let's give Koch a chance and see if he has worked things out and can go back to consistently bringing the heat. I read that he hit 97 tonight.
May 14, 200322 yr Not much heat, lots of offspeed, her dropped a few "hammers". He looked real sharp tonight. Botch throwing his classic straight fastballs over the plate=bad headache for Sox fans, Botch throwing some junk=much better for the heart.
May 14, 200322 yr How in the hell did he just do that? I don't know, he did have 44 of them last year..so he can do it..I still belive he'll get it together
May 14, 200322 yr I wasn't paying attention to the gun, but he had his breaking ball working tonight. The heat looked pretty good, if I say so myself
May 14, 200322 yr Koch said he straightened out his leg kick. So he was kung-fu pitching (couldn't help myself).
