October 24, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) you know i think bernie mac lives in frankfort and im pretty sure he grew up on the southside. i like dahl, but i bet he used his celebrity status to get tickets. b mac grew up in crete.. more recently had a house on the Balmoral Woods Golf course... October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) If I had celebrity status, I'd have used it to go to last night's game. Its one thing if you are a huge White Sox fan, its another if you are just looking to be seen in the place to be. The first one I can understand, the second one just pisses me off.
October 24, 200520 yr It's the freaking World Series. If it's in Chicago for the 1st time since 1959, a LOT of people want to be there. If the Sox make it back there next year, then it won't be as unique as it is this year.
October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) you know i think bernie mac lives in frankfort and im pretty sure he grew up on the southside. i like dahl, but i bet he used his celebrity status to get tickets. But Dahl has always been a vocal Sox fan. He probably doesn't go to too many games though, due to what time his show is on the air. But I also wouldn't be surprised if he has season tix. He has never switched, and he is not shy about his disliking of the Cubs and their station.
October 24, 200520 yr I used my celebrity status to get a ticket to last night's game. The telecast was great.
October 24, 200520 yr I hope we win in it 7, so that more die hard fans have a WS experience. I'm sure some die hard fans who didn't get tix to games 1 or 2, have them for games 6 and 7. It wasn't meant for me, but someone else might as well have a blast.
October 24, 200520 yr Yeah, Dahl's had the tix for as long as I can remember too. I actually won his tickets one night when he didn't want to go, about four years ago. A buddy of mine and I went with his then-producer and another Dahl fan. My buddy and I went out with the producer later and got hammered with him. He was kind of a tool, but whatever. October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) But Dahl has always been a vocal Sox fan. He probably doesn't go to too many games though, due to what time his show is on the air. But I also wouldn't be surprised if he has season tix. He has never switched, and he is not shy about his disliking of the Cubs and their station. He did ditch the Sox for a few years, AND has spoken very respectfully about some WGN personalities including his ex-nemesis Wally Phillips, but who really cares? His show is boring as hell and has been for a really long time. And expect an announcement from the Loop very soon about Brandmeier. He could be back on the air by early November.
October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) And expect an announcement from the Loop very soon about Brandmeier. He could be back on the air by early November. If you're serious, I'm kissing you the next time we hook up! LOL!!! How have you heard this?
October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) If I had celebrity status, I'd have used it to go to last night's game. I'm sure the cast of "Prison Break" and the voice of Homer Simpson are die-hard Sox Fans. There's tix right there that could have been sold to people like us.
October 24, 200520 yr It would be an improvement over the current dolt. Actually, I can't stand any of the DJs on 97.9 lately. Edited October 24, 200520 yr by Queen Prawn
October 24, 200520 yr QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Obama?? what do you know about him? how much $$$ did he waste as a lawyer remapping the wards in chicago? only to have the voters elect a white alderman in a 90% black ward... the man's a racist.. I don't want him as a senator or sox fan... :headshake
October 24, 200520 yr FOX always has actors in the stands during the WS to pimp their popular show on FOX that premieres after the WS. That's why they pay to show the postseason.
