Senate introduces steroid bill

Featured Replies

Back in the late parts of September, Don Fehr and Bud Selig again took the stand before the Senate to talk about steroids. In that hearing, Fehr said plainly that they hoped they would have a stronger steroid punishment policy in place by the end of the world series.

If the world series took 7 games, it would have been over Sunday. And the Senate doesn't seem too thrilled to have been jerked around.

The Senate has introduced steroid legislation similar to that in the house...calling for a 2 year suspension for a first offense.

As soon as Reid lets the Senate turn the lights back up, I say go ahead and push for it. Baseball's had long enough. They should not be allowed to d*ck around any more.

Woah..2 years. That's honestly fine with me though and f*** donald fehr and the players union. Sorry, just had to say that. :)

Ridiculous.

MLB and the players union should be sitting down right now and not leaving until they have an acceptable plan in place. This is their absolute worst nightmare, and the Senators are not bluffing, they will get this through and make it law.

This would be an out and out fiasco for MLB. There are way too many players who offseason in foreign countries and have no idea what they're taking. Imagine if one of the big marquee players accidentaly take something that sets off a false positive or they're slipped something on accident... then baseball has to fight a 2 year suspension mandated by federal law? That's going to be a nightmare for PR whether it was a legitimate failure or not.

I wouldn't be suprised to see MLB and the union agree on something soon...

No excuse. They make enough $$ to have anything they even think about putting on or in their bodies checked out BEFORE they do it.

If players are putting s*** into their body when they dont even know what's in it...then well, they're retarded.

Hey Bud! You better pull your head out of the sand, because someone's getting ready to stick a big ol' boot up your ass.

I honestly think it's Fehr to blame for the slacking on this one.

In the recent past, I agree with you. Going back a few years, it was in their mutual interests to bury their head in the sand.

Neener, neener, neener...

Fine by me, steroids have no place in baseball.

2 years is a good starting point.

Awesome. In the real world you get fired for a positive drug test. At least this is a little closer to reality.
