The Griffey Rumor

Did anyone else basically forgot about this? When the Sox started to get into their slump in late August through September I put the Griffey rumor behind. Once they clinched the division and went through out the playoffs, I never even once thought about the rumor. It's just kinda crazy to look bad only 3 months ago how much this website was talking about the rumor.

my money says we keep paulie and we dont even need griffey.

however, say i'm wrong and PK goes to anaheim or somewhere else. Would griffey be a good pickup? We are sorta set for the outfeild...I guess he could go to first. the more i think about it the less acquiring griffey makes sense.

I'm still conviced you had some outside help.  ;)

Ha, I wish I had sources. Just read that quote from Kenny, began to think about it and it just kind of clicked and made sense to me. I do something smart once every 9 years so let me be. :P

Hey, I gave you your props numerous times. Now only if you could concentrate this intelligence and put it to good use . . .

If Thomas is a no-go next year for any reason (health, contract, whatever), and if none of our minor league bats can hit righties well (Gload, Anderson, Rogowski, etc.), then I think it would be smart to look for a solid DH bat who can hit righties.

Griffey is not a bad candidate for that.

But, he's expensive, injury-prone in recent years, and may be difficult or impossible to acquire. High risk, high reward. I'm sort of liking the idea actually, if we don't have to give up the farm to get him.

:huh
