Champaign needs to use salt. This is ridiculous.

Back in Carbondale, we had a doozy snowstorm about once a year. The town didnt know what to do, had 1 snowplow, never enough salt, and then they would lay down charcoal on the roads. My floors and carpets were completely filthy until the snow melted, I hated that s***. And everyone in Southern Illinois just doesnt understand the concept of driving in snow. Is it that hard? Dont floor it, you morons, thats how you lose traction and spin out. But, like clockwork, half of the town is in the ditch the next day.

I'm in oakbrook...took me an hour to get to Stickney (by Midway)...but I left here at 3:30. I heard some people here had 5 hour commutes. Another guy tried waiting it out. Stayed until 8pm...got home at 11:30. Unreal.

I only got 4.5 blocks in 1 hour in the city. itwas a blast.

I took an hour and a half to get home when it's usually only an hour. Not bad I guess. My biggest problem were the people driving down country roads at 20MPH. I had to pass a line of about 6 cars all at one time because they were all going so damn slow and NOBODY would go around the lead car.

You don't count...we're talking about people in chicagoland... :D :P

We got the same snowstorm you guys did. :P

Yeah, but people here refuse to stop procreating, so we are overpopulated. Seriously, if you would have seen this s*** here, with all the cars, it was unreal. Everywhere you went was a parking lot.

bah, you guys need to take a page from the North East.

8 inches and no delays:)

Isn't that because everyone is in buggies, on the side of the road?

THey use sand don't they.

Yes they do. Also, they seem to wait until it stops snowing to get out there and start plowing. It's ridiculous all the way around.

The worst part of a Chicago snowstorm isn't the shoveling or travel times, it's moving your living room down to the street so some a##hole doesn't take your parking space.

I remember when I used to live in Lakeview back in the day. The s*** people would put out there to save a space was hilarious. But if you spend hours digging yourself a space, you deserve it and have every right to claim it.
